Could not save as ‘filename’ because of a program error

SUMMARY

This article describes how to fix the error where Photoshop will not save a converted Illustrator file as a jpeg

CAUSE

Mac OS 9.1 is incompatible with the Save command when you save an Illustrator EPS file as JPEG

SOLUTION

Save the file using the Save for Web command:
1. In Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, choose File > Save for Web.
2. Choose JPEG High, JPEG Low, or JPEG Medium from the Settings pop-up menu,
3 Specify any custom settings using the pop-up menus in the Settings section.
4. Click OK.
5. Specify a location for the file in the Save Optimized As dialog box, and click Save.
